Abstract

Currently, manufacturers have created cigarettes using technology assistance, but if we examine more deeply smoking is not very good for health, it can even be said to be very dangerous and according to data from the Ministry of Health, the number of smokers increases, especially in the group of children, adolescents and adults, the number of smokers will increase. in adolescents aged 15-19 years, it doubled from 12.7% in 2001 to 23.1% in 2016, but in the adult group it had a smoking rate of 56%. With this, it is possible to make a prototype of a cigarette smoke detector based on Arduino Mega 2560, using the Arduino IDE application which is a C programming language as a programmer for the cigarette smoke detector, for that several components are needed including the MQ-2 Sensor, Arduino Mega 2560, LCD, Buzzer and Fan, connect all the components on the Arduino Mega 2560 then the tool is ready to be tested by following the steps in the program flowchart. Then the results of the trial of the tool that have been made from the smoke pressure is less than 200 where the buzzer and fan are in 0 (Low) condition to a smoke pressure of more than 200 where the buzzer and fan are in 1 (High). From the description above, the MQ-2 sensor not only detects cigarette smoke in the room, this sensor can also detect other types of smoke inside and outside the room.
